The Regenerative Ranching (GANARE, Spanish acronym) project generated useful knowledge for the Mexican livestock community to adopt regenerative practices that boost the economic profitability of the sector and strengthen the conservation of ecosystems over the long term. In 2022, GANARE successfully completed 25 consultancies that contributed with technical reference information relevant for the design of the Connecting Watershed Health with Sustainable Livestock and Agroforestry Production (CONECTA, Spanish acronym) and River Restoration for Climate Change Adaptation (RÍOS, Spanish acronym) projects. With the participation of the Agence Française de Développement, the project celebrated its closure at an event where some of the results of the project were presented. This forum fostered the exchange of ideas among attendees to identify future opportunities for collaboration. Mexican Fund for the Conservation of Nature (FMCN, Spanish acronym) supported the Institute of Ecology to develop a Guide for the Identification of Dung Beetles in Chiapas and South-central Veracruz, in which scientific knowledge, livestock experience and international support converge to promote productive transition in our country.
