The Endangered Species Conservation Fund (FONCER, Spanish acronym) supports the conservation of priority species in different areas of Mexican territory. The participation of communities has played a fundamental role in the protection of these species. In 2022, community brigades carried out the monitoring and surveillance of Olive ridley and Kemp’s ridley turtles and the Peninsular pronghorn. Collaboration with schools helped disseminate the importance of the California condor, while working with ranchers in Chihuahua strengthened good practices to conserve the Mexican wolf.
